Hello everyone, this is Kumeyasuhiro from Mozu Pottery.

Today, we have some new dishes that we would like you to take a look at. Today, we have small bowls called “kosui-bowls,” which you can see here.

The name “kosuibowaru” means “chopstick wash” in Japanese, and I believe that these bowls were originally made for people to drink a small amount of soup to cleanse their palates after eating a certain amount of food, to wash away oil in the mouth, and to cleanse the palate before drinking the next alcoholic drink.

Nowadays, the amount of soup can be served in a bowl that can hold about 100 to 150 cc, so there is no need for a lot of soup, and many restaurants, for example, serve a bowl with red miso soup instead of sumashi to accompany a bento.

Today's bowls are also made of lacquer ware, so they come in a variety of colors.

This one is a simple color, the traditional tosuke color, and this one is a new color, and we also offer a variety of paints. This is an interesting eggplant shape.

The small size is pleasing to the eye, and I think it is easy for women to hold in their hands. Since this is also lacquerware, if it is handled roughly, it will get scratches and other damage.

However, if not handled carefully, scratches and other defects will become noticeable and ruin the product immediately.

本日も是非皆様にご覧になっていただきたい器をご用意しておりますんでよろしくお願いいたします。

本日はこちらに並べてある小吸椀と呼ばれてる小ぶりのお椀ですねこれを用意させていただきました。

小吸椀というのは箸洗というネーミングもあって、食事のある程度食べた後に少しお口直しにすましのお汁を飲んで、口の中の油分などを流して、次のお酒飲む前に口の中を整える役割でこのお椀は作られたとは思います。

最近は量的に大体百CC百五十CCぐらいの量が入るので、あまり沢山のお汁は必要ないということで、例えばお弁当に少し添えるお椀としてすましではなくて、赤だしを入れてご提供されているお店も多いと思います。

今日も漆器のお椀ですので、色もいろいろございまして、こちらは昔ながらのため色という、シンプルな色です。
こちらは新しい色目で塗料などそういうのも色々ご用意させていただいております。

これは茄子の形状をして面白い形ですよね。色々メーカーさん各社がですね、色々なデザインを出しておられまして、目にも楽しい小ぶりはですね、女性の方が手に持った時に持ちやすくていいかなと思います。

こちらも漆器なので、扱いの方は乱雑に扱うと傷などが入ってしまいますので、その辺は気遣いながら丁寧に、洗っていただいて今、洗浄機も大量の生地を使ってる商品もできておりますので、もちろん洗浄機は使っていただいて良いのですが、丁寧に扱わないと傷などが目立って直ぐにダメになってしまいます。

その辺はスタッフの方に声掛けしながら扱っていただければと思っております。
